Verified There really needs to be an option for more than 5 stars because our stay at The Lookout was phenomenal! From the early interaction with Nicola through to the amazing service by Sam and the staff we had the most incredible stay. Such a beautiful house - large rooms, private bathrooms attached to each, amazing location right on the beach, attentive staff not just giving great service but making you feel at home, amazing food prepared expertly, lovely pool. A great stay for our family which added to our happy Sri Lankan memories 🇱🇰Verified Lookout is categorically the best place to stay in Dickwella or Hiriketiya - if you don’t believe me go on google maps satellite and look around - there is no where else with an amazing pool and beach access.If you are choosing between Dickwella and Hiriketiya - trust me, choose Dickwella. It’s the far more beautiful beach to wander and enjoy beautiful sunsets with or without a cocktail.With all its natural advantages, the actual villa is perfect - 4 massive rooms with aircon, big bathrooms, lots of storage space to unpack, big living space, great covered terrace downstairs to eat under and balcony upstairs that rooms along the 3 rooms up there.The pool is brilliant, with padded sun loungers for everyone and sun all day.Staff were the best bit - incredible chef, cooked anything well but the Sri Lankan meals were incredible, Sam, our butler, made everything a joy, and the rest of the team were great - super friendly.For kids - perfect - cribs, toys, food, nanny’s nearby.Verified A brilliant home for our family to celebrate a significant birthday. Everything was perfect, the location spectacular (a few steps to a stunning beach) and the hospitality better than we could have imagined.The villa is in excellent condition, the rooms and bathrooms all modern and very clean. The open areas are perfect for a family. There’s no TV by design but it says a lot when even with 2 teenagers, this wasn’t missed nor brought up at all. It’s like having your own five star hotel with full staff and amenities. Nicola was a wonderful and incredibly responsive host. She went way above and beyond to help us a few times during our stay. She’s the most considerate Airbnb host we have ever stayed with. The one thing which I don’t think the description does a good job explaining is how high the standard of service is. There’s a housekeeper, butler and chef at your disposal for the entirety of your stay. The chef prepares amazing food and Sam (the butler) is as good of a server I’ve seen outside of New York, London or Paris. Overall just a fantastic experience. From arrival to our departure, we were catered, looked after and seen to better than most 5 Star hotels. The property and beach were absolutely superb and even better in real life. We arrived to welcoming cocktails and started to ease in our holiday. We all - including the kids loved the facilities, the pool was right on the patio. We had direct access to our very own portion of the beach - which is awesome, long and expansive, with great waves for the kids. We ended up playing cricket almost every day, with morning and evening swims trying some body surfing. There location is also perfect. Quite - secluded, private beach access, but close enough to walk to some great restaurants (Smoke and Bitters is 300m walk), best Cocktail bar in Sri Lanka. Hiriketiya is a 3min TukTuk ride over the hill for some of the best Surfing waves and great local restaurants and bars right on the beach! We will definitely recommend this place!Verified Who needs the Maldives? This space was perfect! The staff at the Lookout left no question as to their commitment to service.
